  • There are hotels available immediately in the town of Arezzo, but I highly recommend taking advantage of the many agriturismo options in the area, since a car is highly recommended to explore all that this area of Tuscany has to offer.

    An agriturismo is a working farm stay, typically family run. There is no better way to experience the slow, authentic Tuscan lifestyle while enjoying fresh farm-to-table meals.

    Alternatively, if you have a larger group, you can rent an entire villa. I specifically recommend Dimora Cardamini for a spacious & affordable stay!

  • Tuscany is ideal for a child-friendly Italian experience! Arezzo specifically has many agriturismo options that are on the more affordable side, compared to some of the more popular areas. Take advantage of this for a more spacious stay with plenty of room for the little ones to run around and experience life on a working farm! Arezzo, along with the many surrounding towns, is also much less crowded than other areas in Tuscany, making it easier to navigate with children.

  • While there is a train that conveniently connects Florence to Arezzo, a car is still highly recommended to explore the surrounding countryside, medieval towns, and wineries.

    I recommend renting your car at the Florence airport, where the surrounding roads are much easier to drive than roads within the city. Even if you are staying in Florence for a few days, it is worth getting a cab to the airport to pick up your car.
